2016 52 World Championship – Race 8 Summary

Azzurra’s defence of their 2015 52 World Championship title was given a boost today when they scored back-to-back wins, adding a good Race 8 win to their triumph in the preceding heat.

Regatta leaders Quantum Racing were judged to have been over the start under a black flag penalty on a previous attempt and so score 13pts from Race 8.

So the final day of the 52 World Championship will start with Quantum Racing’s lead over Azzurra halved to a more tenable nine points with Provezza third, three points behind Azzurra.
