Caballo Loco

Inspired to a certain extent by the passion of friends, rivals and compatriots on the Crioula Team, Caballo Loco join the circuit in 2026 with the former Phoenix, a well optimised and fast boat. Owners
Mauro Dottori and Fabio Cotrim will share the helm over the course of the year, expecting to steer at alternate regattas. They are a team which has been sailing together in South America for about four years with some success now they want to take on the world’s best on the 52 SUPER SERIES. They showed well in pre season training in Valencia and out to learn and progress.
Finn Olympian Jorge Zarif is tactician, Rob Paradeda of Quantum Brazil is strategist and Luciano Secchin is navigator who is a non Pro sailor who is a ship pilot on the Amazon. Most of this team are from São Paolo.

They are stepping up from their previous ‘mini’ Phoenix a Botín 44-footer, so were very chuffed to be able to buy the ‘real’ Phoenix TP52!
Since 2023 they have chartered other TP52s to race in the Med, principally at Copa del Rey.
