Race 3 – Gladiator Get First Win in New Boat

Tony Langley and the Gladiator sailing team gave his shore team, the hard working team at Persico Marine and Pure Engineering, a welcome reward for all their endeavours in repairing their damaged boat by winning the second race of today at the Rolex TP52 World Championship off Scarlino. With Ed Baird calling tactics, Gladiator executed a punchy but perfect pin end start, shooting the the pin end boat to earn the preferred right hand end start. From there they were able to extend to a good early lead in the 12 to 14kt sea breeze. Platoon’s second place gives them the regatta lead overall as the ten boat fleet rolls into a third race of the day.
