A new team or a successful established team in new, different colours? Dutch racer Peter Heerama took over the outstanding Quantum Racing team after their double winning 2025 season during which they lifted both the 52 SUPER SERIES title and the Rolex TP52 World Championship. He took on all of the hardware – the winning Botin designed boat plus all the shoreside set up – most of the sailing team continue as does the coaching support.
Heerema is a massively experienced owner-driver in his own right, a past winner of the Dragon Gold Cup and previously successful on the RC44 circuit in the early days. He wants to test himself at the highest level now and the chance to take over the reins of the Quantum Racing programme could be the fast track to success, but of course nothing is guaranteed.
Crew incoming include navigator Michele Ivaldi who sailed with Quantum Racing before, Morgan Larson is strategist for the first event and then Lucas Calabrese will sail the rest of the season as strategist.
