SLED wins the battles, while Quantum Racing wins the war

A vigorous match race pre-start between Azzurra and Quantum did not give either an advantage off the start of Race 9, and it was on the strength of hooking the beginnings of a strong right shift on the first beat that SLED vaulted out ahead of the pack.

The wind shifted even more dramatically right, making race manager Dick Neville and his team scramble to re-align the course some 60 degrees.

This shift re-shuffled positions in the pack, but SLED managed to remain on top to win yet another race, and claim the last podium position overall on a critical tie-break with Interlodge.
