Gladiator is a well-known British flagged team owned and backed by successful, popular English businessman Tony Langley. They are part of the Quantum Sails stable and in 2023 have recruited the hugely successful Argentinian ace Guillermo Parada as tactician. He led the successful Azzurra program to four 52 SUPER SERIES titles.
They are looking for a higher level of consistency in 2023 but like many of their contemporaries, struggle to hold on to the top level regularity which contributes to podium finishes. Their best season was probably 2017 when they finished the last regatta of the season in second place on countback.
Langley has previously run three TP52s at the same time and enjoyed mixing up his team’s programme racing in the USA and at home in England at key, personal favourite events. But in 2023 again it is the 52 SUPER SERIES which is their primary focus.
Tony loves his sport and must rank as the hardest working owner-drivers in this business!
