What a difference a day makes

Three races sailed off beautiful South Beach in flat water and 9-12 knots meant racing was extremely close all day, with Gladiator having impressive 1-3 finishes in the first two races, but then succumbing to penalty troubles to get pushed to the back of the pack in the third race.

Other newcomers to the podium positions were Vesper, winning the second race, and Interlodge, getting second in the third race, although everyone at some point in the day was in the hunt. But with consistency comes success: Ran on scores of 4-2-1 has extended their thin lead to now 4 points over early series leader Azzurra, who in turn have a four-point cushion over Quantum, the reigning World Champion.

Tomorrow will start an hour early and have up to three races, so there’s still plenty to play for in the event.
