Race 7 – Luna Rossa Back in Command

Luna Rossa finished second in the penultimate race of the Zadar Royal Cup with Platoon seventh and erstwhile regatta leaders Phoenix 11th and so the Italian team go into the final race with a six-point lead.

Phoenix were unable to get to the favoured right side as smartly as they had in previous races and so rounded the first windward mark in seventh place, but then dropped on the run to 10th. In contrast Luna Rossa were third at the top mark first time up behind leaders Provezza and second placed Azzurra.

As Provezza rolled out to a decent lead to win their first race in Zadar, Luna Rossa got inside Azzurra at the second top mark approach and so were able to steal second
