Race 5 – Alegre’s First Win Since Scarlino 2016

Alegre won Race 5 of the Zadar Royal Cup after passing race leader Gladiator just after the top mark second time up. It is the first race win for Andy Soriano’s team since Scarlino last year.

The right paid on this Windward-Leeward Race and Gladiator and Alegre, along with Onda, benefited early. Quantum Racing passed Onda at the leeward gate to take third. Luna Rossa finished seventh to hold their three-point margin at the top of the regatta standings, but Phoenix are now second.
