Race 2 – Azzurra Led from Start to Finish

Azzurra won the second race of the Rolex TP52 World Championship ahead of regatta leaders Quantum Racing with Platoon climbing to a well earned third place after having to tack away from a difficult position off the start line.

Azzurra, Quantum Racing and Sorcha started best in the seven to eight knot offshore NE’ly breeze. Azzurra were able to lead around the first windward mark ahead of Quantum Racing and Sorcha. With the first signs of the gradient breeze dying away near the end of first run, Azzurra kept their nerve and covered Quantum Racing up the second beat as the pressure rose and fell. Prudently the PRO decided to stop the contest at the top of the second beat, Azzurra holding on to win.
