Quantum Racing With Their First Win in 2022

Racing in a great 15-17kts of NW’ly breeze and nice flat water on the Ría de Vigo, Doug DeVos and the Quantum Racing team won the third race of the ABANCA 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week whilst a great recovery on the second beat allowed Phoenix to finish third across the line and so actually extend their overall lead to one point with Platoon now second.
Interlodge started at the committee boat end and peeled right early to lead at the first windward mark as the breeze shifted 20 degrees right which also favoured Sled and Alegre. Phoenix were on the wrong side and rounded the WW1 mark in seventh.
But the breeze shifted left again on the next upwind and Quantum got ahead of Interlodge whilst Phoenix got through to fourth, passing Interlodge on the final downwind to take third and retain their regatta lead. Platoon took second.
