Mayhem in Miami

Race 6 was as wet and wild as the other two, as the wind stayed up to gust well over 20 knots at times, conditions that SLED used to their advantage in taking and holding their first lead in the series for one lap around the course.

But Azzurra managed to just catch them at the second top mark rounding and take the lead, one they held by the slimmest margin all the way to the finish.

Besides Quantum Racing thus losing their overall series lead to the Italians, this race had some more serious casualties, though: in a broach after gybing on the first run, Hooligan lost three crew overboard, with one sustaining a broken arm and having to be shuttled quickly ashore for medical assistance.
