Blue Day?

For Azzurra, looking to close out their first world title together as a crew representing the iconic Yacht Club Costa Smeralda colours, it should be a realtively straightforwards task today. Convert a 14 points lead in a fleet of 12 boats to a world title. Two good races…job done! Of course if they can hold that margin into the second race then the title is theirs.

But Vasco Vascotto warns:

It sounds simple but I have been there in the RC 44 class with the 13 points lead and come ashore with a penalty and finishing three points behind. And so we will be sticking to our blue book, ping the line, check the breeze, pick a side and sail a nice race. We remember as well that this is about the season too, about winning the 52 SUPER SERIES and so we keep an eye on that as well.

The fight for the podium places is close, Quantum Racing have second overall on 39 points but are just seven points clear of sixth with Platoon, Rán Racing, Alegre and Bronenosec all vying for what most would consider to be the two remaining steps on the podium.
