Advantage Azzurra

Azzurra swept to a fantastic Race 7 victory with rivals Quantum Racing in sixth place to take a three points overall lead with just one race of the Settimana delle Bocche regatta to go.

In a very puffy, shifty breeze which varied between 9 and 22kts, Azzurra were on the money from the start gun and lead all the way around the course, staying clear of the furious place trading which followed them. At the first top mark Azzurra lead Provezza and Gladiator with Quantum fourth.
Down the run Quantum made two places to chase Azzurra only two boat lengths behind. But in the changeable, up and down breeze in the gulf off the Bay of Sardinia, Gladiator and Platoon made big gains on the left with Quantum fading back to fourth.
Down the final run Azzurra kept it tight and controlled to hold off Gladiator while Provezza got back to third. Quantum Racing lost Platoon and Sled on the run to cross sixth.

So into the showdown final race Azzurra lead Quantum Racing by three points, Provezza tie Bronenosec for third with Sled and Platoon also tied for fifth and sixth. All on!!
