2016 Audi Settimana Delle Bocche – Race 3 Update

Azzurra took their chances on the first run of Race 3 and scored their first win of the Audi Settimana delle Bocche, the regatta they won last year on their home waters.

The light breeze shifted direction on each and every leg making it hard for the tacticians to stay on top of the changes. XIO Hurakan and Paprec Recyclage rounded the top mark best but Azzurra came back well towards the bottom of the first run. They got ahead of XIO at the approach to the second windward mark. XIO took second and Quantum Racing third. Azzurra changed their rudder and Cole Parada shaved his beard off as the home team looked to changes to make them faster. It’s Azzurra’s first race win this season and XIO’s best score of the year so far. Azzurra and Quantum Racing are tied at the top of the regatta standings.
