About
Gladiator is a well-known team owned and backed by successful, popular English businessman Tony Langley.
They have learned a great deal and worked hard, improving progressively since their first foray into the TP52 regattas in the Med in 2009. They remain one of the most ardent fans and supporters of the 52 SUPER SERIES.
2017 proved a great year for the Gladiator team, as British owner-driver Tony Langley sought to make all round improvements, and, by and large, they proved they had achieved that by the end of the season with a very popular second place in Mahón. They joined the three-boat Quantum Racing stable, and Ed Baird stepped into the team as tactician bringing with him all his experience of winning with Quantum. When the newly built Interlodge became available, Langley’s proved a deft, smart choice even if the transition did not go as smoothly as planned. A notorious Miami T-bone required the shore team and the sailors to dig deep to have the boat ready for the first European regatta. Since then their rewards came incrementally. Owner of a mini fleet of TP52, Langley also sailed his others in the USA and on home Solent waters in England. Langley loves his sport and must rank as the hardest working owner-driver in this business!
