Quantum Kings Again

Despatching rivals Ran Racing on the start line of the breezy final race Doug DeVos’ Quantum Racing team win the Copa del Rey for the BARCLAYS 52 Super Series for the second successive year.

In the brisk 17 to 20kts conditions with steep choppy seas, Quantum Racing were able to squeeze a telling lee bow on their rivals, slowing them momentarily and forcing them off to the less favoured right side of the upwind.

Phoenix lead around the top mark and extended to win the last race of the regatta ahead of Azzurra, Quantum Racing finishing third with Ran Racing in their wake was enough to clinch the top trophy again and give them their second Barclays 52 SUPER SERIES title in a row.
