Race 7 – Azzurra Caught in Three-Way Tie for Second

Just when they needed a decisive score, Azzurra won the second race of the day, which, with Platoon in seventh, Luna Rossa in eighth, and Quantum Racing in fourth, it is Platoon that now leads the 52 SUPER SERIES Valencia Sailing Week by one single point ahead of a three-way tie between Luna Rossa, Quantum Racing and Azzurra.

Azzurra made the key start off the pin end of the start line and were able to gain a narrow lead from Phoenix, which again opted to get to starboard tack layline early and round second.

Platoon had to make a penalty turn after fouling Alegre on the approach to the windward mark. Luna Rossa had a bad first beat and rounded the top mark 11th. Both made good recoveries down the last run to get seventh and eighth.
