Race 3 – Rán Ran Away

Rán Racing won the second windward-leeward race today to take the overall lead in the Porto Cervo 52 SUPER SERIES Audi Sailing Week. Azzurra led at the top mark first time up, racing in 9 to 11kts of breeze, but lost out to Niklas Zennström’s team on the approach to the leeward gate. Rán stretched away on the second run when Azzurra went hard left of the downwind. Bronenosec went from fourth to second, holding right, with Quantum Racing taking third, Platoon fourth and Azzurra fifth. Ran lead on 11pts, Bronenosec have 14, and Provezza and Sled are tied on 15. Quantum Racing score best for the day with four points, 1 and 3 points from two races.
