Race 1 – Luna Rossa Win Their First Race Ever in the 52 SUPER SERIES

Luna Rossa won their first race ever on the 52 SUPER SERIES as they crossed the finish line of Race 1 of the Zadar Royal Cup, the second event of the 2018 52 SUPER SERIES.

The emblematic Italian team started smartly off the pin end of the start line and benefited from the left phase of the light, eight-knot breeze to lead with Provezza around the top mark. Ergin Imre’s Turkish team took the lead but messed up their kite drop at the leeward gate and fell away.

Luna Rossa kept Alegre behind for second while Phoenix, with Tina Plattner on the helm, took third. Azzurra recovered to fourth and Platoon came from deep in the fleet to cross fifth.
