Azzurra win in Capri

On the strength of an impeccably delivered second and first place on the final day in Capri, Azzurra win the first regatta of the 2014 BARCLAYS 52 SUPER SERIES.

When the time limit after which no racing is allowed expired this afternoon at 1530hrs local, Azzurra had done enough to clinch the title on the class first ever visit to Capri.
The key moment came in the first race when Vesper gybed away from Azzurra on the second run in the first race of the day allowing the Italian flagged team to take second place behind Rán Racing.

The breeze was difficult to read in the second race of the day but Vasco Vascotto measure it perfectly and the blue hulled 52 was able to extend ahead of Phoenix to record their second win of the series.

Vesper finish four points behind with Quantum Racing third overall.
