52´s Introduction | 52 Super Series

The 52 SUPER SERIES is a new circuit of linked events which has been created for and by the owners of TP52 to underpin the continued development and popularity of the class, to maintain its lustre and appeal as the top racing circuit to provide the best grand prix monohull inshore racing in the world.

The main goal for the 2012 season is to maintain the impetus, to keep the momentum which started in the Mediterranean in 2005 rolling, to retain the innovation and development which has ensured the TP52 is the best grand prix racing yacht.

In many senses it has taken ownership of the Circuit back to its roots, to the owners who contribute so much to enjoy their sport. At the heart it has been founded by the owners of Quantum Racing, Audi Azzurra Sailing Team and RAN as they sought to provide a stable foundation to build the exciting future which is envisaged.

The invitation to TP52 owners worldwide is extended to come and enjoy the racing. The 52 SUPER SERIES is also about a return to the real spirit and organization races which are truer to the desires of owners and their teams and seeks to establish a long-term relationship with yacht clubs, the local organizers and with current and potential owners.

So a key difference from previous seasons in the Med is that now the teams own the competition circuit and so are responsible for making the strategic decisions won their future which returns control of the competition to its participants, the teams.

Thus the project of the 52 SUPER SERIES was created with the idea of ensuring a sustainable long term, increasing the fleet of competitors and to add new constituent regattas in Europe, America, Asia, the Middle East and Oceania.
