The Trofeo Conde de Godó de Vela regatta has been one of the pinnacle events on the Mediterranean sailing calendar for very many years. The regatta dates back some 40 years and enjoyed greatest popularity and prestige in the heydays of IMS.
Previously it was one of the three ‘triple crown’ events hosted by the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona but now this May regatta has outlasted the other two. Now it is a multi class regatta featuring key one design, box rule and handicap fleets.
The club is investing heavily in this showcase regatta this year as they seek to build its reputation and future entries. Other than being the regatta which lifts the curtain on the new 52 Super Series, it also offers racing for a Wally class, Soto 40’s, J80’s and ORC handicap classes.
