This biennial regatta, established in 1978 and considered by many as the Mediterranean answer to the Admiral’s Cup, sees teams battle to prove their supremacy and to bring home the coveted Sardinia Cup Challenge Trophy.
In 2012 each competing national team is composed of two racing yachts: a TP52 and a Soto 40. The event is also valid as a leg of the 2012 52 Super Series and the European Championship for the Soto 40 Class. A program of windward-leeward races and coastal races through the islands of the La Maddalena archipelago will keep teams busy over five days of racing.
